hundreds of miles? A bit alarmist!  :-?
The car might very well go for another good few thousand miles as it is. The belt and tensioners on mine was changed nearer 50 000 miles on mine - I just couldn't find the time to change it at exactly 40 000.

I have seen too many belts go... its not worth the risk, it only costs around £100 and 2 hours....

Mine was changed after 15k as it did not sound right (dealer fitted) for someone with less knowledge it could easily let go.

I personally will change mine every 30k now....

Not when the chains and tensioners cost the same as what i paid for that car....

My point is that Omega's which are worth far more than my Senator, for the sake of £100 it can be changed more regularly...
