It just sums up what New Labour, and in particular Tony Blair thought was the key policy............."Education, education, education!!"

What a load of political mis-direction (I am being lady like now!!) that turned out to be

I hate New Labour, I simply loathe all it stands for but, in all honesty, many - if not the majority -of the schools that are closed for polling tomorrow (including that of my children) have closed for polling for the last 50 years or more!! It is done for reasons of practicality, when there are no alternative church halls etc., available.
Nothing to do with New Labour...or Tories...or Limp Dems!
Yes you are right Nick, but why has the last government who one way or another have apparently been in power to change things for the last 13 years, with "education, education, education" being a battle slogan not done so??!!

It should have been - dumbing down, dumbing down, dumbing down. Despite Bliars mantra, education standards have dropped to a shocking level in the last 13 years.
Like everything else, they thought that throwing huge amounts of money at it would automatically make it better.
Btw Andrew Neill is currently giving Harriet Harman a hard time on BBC news channel.
