Car registration numbers question.
« on: 04 June 2010, 10:46:47 »

I thought I knew how this system worked, but now a bit confused, can anyone shed some light on this please?

1996 -N or P, 1997-P or R, 1998- R or S, 1999-S or T, 2000-T or V ??? My Omega was 1998 S reg, my son has an Astra first registered november 1999, also on an "S" plate, and I have just bought a jeep first registered september 1999 on a "V" plate that would mean S,T and V all 1999 and as far as I'm aware "W" is 2000.

Any comments?

That's why for example u may have an 'S' reg car but bought it in 1999 so if you sell it u put 'S' - 1999 & so on!!

Yes very confusing as Mr Skruntie has said  :y

Aparently the worlds going to end in 2012 anyhow !  ::)

So don't need to worry any further than that.

Oh... and for all those rich buggers that have put a deposit on that rare only x20 being made model of cars with a waiting list of x2 years is going to be really pee'd off then when it comes to it being delivered ?!.

News report in the background on t.v / radio... ..... ......... ........ This is a world wide news flash....

Sales person on phone to customer
"Yes sir/madam, will be delivering your car in the next two days (pause), tomorrow (pause), in the next hour (pause), I'm running to the car now !!!!!!!! ::)
