self indulgent bitch fit tantrum
« on: 07 June 2010, 14:36:42 »

Is that i am having right now!!!!!!!!!

Woke up this morning with the phone ringing  to be told a family friend had died in a car crash in Dunfermline last night. Spent the morning with family  then came home to try and fix the car (miss firing) and discover its the coil pack.
tried to remove scuttle panel and cracked it
hit my head off the bonnet  and they it started to rain.
So i spent about 30 seconds in the back yard with temporary toutettes at how shite my day has been so far. only to read on here how much of an arse  changing a coil pack is.

I think i will spend the rest of the day looking for a new car quite fancy an estate

some days just start off shite and dont improve.

Doog, it's only personal preference - but I find it easier to remove the plenum and inlet.

Granted it's more work - but access is improved a million times over  :y

Oops!  Quick search-and-replace on OOF to change all occurrences of "diffcult" to "easy"!  That should do it. ;D

Sorry Doog.  The truth will help you in the end.  If it's a pig and OOF says it's a pig then you won't expect simples.  You get tourettes-squared when people lie to you as well! >:(

Sorry about the consecutive misfortunes.  Take it slowly and it should get better.

sorry to hear about the family friend. That sort of puts car troubles into perspective.

As for the DIS pack. I have changed mine twice now in the last four years. I agree with James it is easier if you take the plenum off(clean breathers at same time?). If you don't, put something soft on top of the plenum (I use a garden kneeler foam mat) and then don't try and see what you are doing but feel it. It helps to have the replacement or a picture to hand. You definitely need a short extn (approx 3 inch). When you are discon the loom to the Dis pack get a small screwdriver up and under the "latch".

Hope it goes OK. :y

Sorry to hear you're having such a bad day. As for the car... Leave it until tomorrow... You're probably not really in the mood for it today, especially having already cracked the scuttle, so chill out and do it when you're calmer :y
