Recently my netbook has started loosing its wifi connection to my wireless router.
If i do a search on available wireless connection, my netbook can see my neighbours wireless routers, but not my own.
So to me, sounds like my router is at fault, but rebooting the router makes no difference, my netbook still cannot see it.
However if i reboot my netboot, it connects to it again, and i can see it in available wireless connections.

A few days later it will do it again.......

This is possibly the only time i reboot the netbook.....usually i leave it in hibernate mode. The problem doesnt seem to happen when it comes out of hibernate mode either.....it can do mid surfing session.

Like just now!, surfing away, went to make a coffee, came back, and it had lost connection, rebooting the netbook fixed it.

Im confused as to why when it gets in this state, my netbook can see my neighbours routers, but not mine, doesnt make sense to me  :-/

Windows wifi search......ie right click on wifi icon in sys tray and select view available wireless networks

Nex time it does it, try going:

> Start > Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services

Scroll to the bottom and stop and start Wireless Zero Configuration, see if that does anything

just had same problem with a Dell netbook, phoned Dell and after a lot of arguing they logged into my computer when it was hard wired into the router and they told me that the router was set on channel 12 when it should have been on channel 11.   They changed the router setting and the netbook recognised it straight away.   Log into your router and see what channel you're set on.

download inssider see what networks are working and if they are on the same channel as you if they are find a clear channel to use

My router was set on channel 13 and netbook was set to use 1-14, so shouldnt be a problem, but i have changed the netbook to use 1-13 instead.

I suspect your problem was that you couldnt connect at all to the router, router set on 12 and laptop set to use channels 1-11.

Worth seeing what channels are in use - some devices do not like to play properly if there is a strong signal on the same channel.

As always, also look for updated drivers for the wifi card...

have you installed any new anti virus or some kind of security software?
I had similar when comes out of hibernate. it was a problem with a RA client

There shouldnt be a stronger signal.....seeing as the netbook is only about 6 ft away from the router....my pc upstairs doesnt have a prob afaik...but will have a looky for updated drivers

TRy changing the channel mate - download "netstumbler" to find out which channels are in use and pick a vacant one!
