What's up Cem? :-/ :-/  Is that a revelation? :D :D :D

how you get those old piccies is a big question for me unless you live here :o ;D :y

Ah, right Cem :D ;)  You had me worried for a bit thinking I had upset you - even thinking that the Turkish place name I quoted was a swear word!! ::) ::) :o :o ;D ;D ;)

Anyway, cannot claim anything but I obtained that picture of the "scrap yard" off the internet! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Hope all is well in sunny Turkey this morning Cem 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) :y

thanks Lizzie :y

unfortunately news are bad, I'm not well, I got sick.. :(
day time 42-43..night 35-36 .. propellers, frequent showers does the job..coughing badly..using antibiotics now.. :-/

Sorry Cem, only just seen your post!  I hope you feel better soon, but in that heat it can be very difficult indeed to feel good even when well!! :'( :'( :'(

These '8Fs' Lizzie ......
Are these otherwise known as 'Black Fives'?

No, the "Black Fives" were W.Stanier's famous general workhorse 4-6-0 5MT's (Mixed Traffic) engines, 842 of them built from 1934 for the LMS, to BR days in 1949. Always rated as one of the most successful engines ever built.

The Stanier 8F's 2-8-0 were a frieght engine primarily built for the LMS from 1935 through to the WW2 years, when some batches were also built for the LNER, even running on the SR when new.  As previously mentioned many ended up in War Department service, and operating abroad during the war and thereafter.  In total no less than 852 were built, of which 133 were for the WD.

No Robbo, the Princess Royal Class was designed by Stanier  but was a 4-6-2  (Pacific) passenger express engine.

This is 46203 Princess Margaret Rose,

which along with 46201 Princess Elizabeth:

are the two preserved out of a class of 12
