So many things about this story fill me with sadness. At the end of it all was there actually a story at all..........

If it was left unlocked - then what drugs were on on it?

Ambulance with keys in the ignition,
Unlocked with potentially lethal equipment (Defib, Drugs etc),
Cost to the Tax Payer if it were 'Stolen',

Taxi Driver should lose his job, Paramedics should lose theirs, nation should learn that even 'professionals' dont adhere to usual working practices.

Anyways, just another story to make the public feel sorry for the NHS....... yes, the Taxi Driver shouldn't have moved it, but, he shouldn't have been ABLE to move it.

Moot point that, IMHO.  If paramedics have to dash to it for supplies they can't be bothering with who's got the keys, or they've fallen out of my pocket....  if another emergency service turned up and needed to move it... authorised person needs to ask member of public to get/move stuff due to shortage of manpower?

Could cut the taxi driver's hands off I suppose.
