Guys,

My mrs wants me to buy a newer can and she hinted at an Audi... errm what?  as if i'm selling my mv6 for a blasted Audi!! well maybe i would for an Audi v8  8-)

But given a choice i'd rather stick with my Omega, if not a newer one... which is my question, when did Vauxhall stop making them and whats the newest 2.6 V6 Elite i can buy?  also would i be pushing my luck if i held out for a manual Elite?

Ceased production in 2003 - I have an 03 but believe some weren't registered 53 plate.

Dealers favoured autos (cos it was a £1k option) so a manual will be harder to find - but not as hard as a 3.2 Elite - only plod could get them with a gearstick, but at least you have a chance with a 2.6.

I saw an add on autotrader the other day for an 04 plated Omega....but as chopsdad says production ceased 03....but depends on when they were 1st registered

yeah i'm i've seen a 53 plate before now, although i've never taken notice as i could never afford anything newer that a W plate.   The only reason i have a 52 plate now is cos i in swooped on a desperate seller... 52 plate MV6, 64k for £2800  

I take it a 03/53 plate 2.6 Elite would still be asking for £4-5k

Probably more than that for an Elite....my 2003 CD i would hope should be about 5kish....tho depends where you buy....vx dealer will certainly want more....ebay obviously less

there are just a few 04 plates out there, i think only because of delayed registration

i wouldnt buy an audi no matter how nice, i hear the service costs are borderline criminal!!!

Yes. Tell me about it. When the self levelling went on our Avant a few years back I got cross and shipped the car back to South Africa for punishment.

Naaaah. What your Mrs wants is an Elite with LPG. Top of the range, new shape. Nice colour like metallic black maybe. Leather? Bose? Fully history and maybe if you are lucky cambelt, water pump, rockers and breathers all ddone with a fuyll service, new MoT and taxed for 6 months. If only you could find one with less than 114k on the clock.


Did I mention I will soon be selling project ELITE LPG? 113k from new, full history........

That's exactly what i want... Elite 2.6, Met black, manual, although i wan't to buy it and LPG it myself!! plus it'd need to be much lower mileage.

What engine has project LPG got? i'm guessing 2.6

Jeremy Clarkson said the V8 audi drives as though it has a dead horse nailed the the front bumper. I think that sums the audi up quite well.
