Bye Bye Skudo.....
« on: 16 February 2012, 18:10:31 »

Its going, going, gone to the scrappy as far as i'm concerned.

It now needs a new engine.......and it isnt getting one from me!

Broke down on the m4 earlier......and got recovered to the garage i use.

Boss of garage managed to get it started after it turned over for ages.....would hardly rev, sounded like a tractor and smoke poured out of the exhaust....

Seeing as its a pug engine, i was a bit surprised its only managed 151k miles  :(

He did try to help by suggesting he had a can of petrol  ::)

He's lent me a Skoda Superb to use until i get a replacement

Looks like im bus shopping next week.....

In my opinion a lot of the french cars are actually quite good. Had a Laguna that did 260000km and was sold still running fine and tested. Also a Pug 205 - very reliable. A R5 Turbo - good car, until it ended up on its roof  :'(
But of course, we can only speak from our own experiences.

Whoops! I loved my old R5 GTT, and my R19 16V - both where exceptionally reliable (I had to replace a king lead on the R19 and a clutch cable - ok so the latter is a common fault - and a turbo on the R5, although given what I'd wound it up to .. and then forgot to do up a jubilee clip, that was my own damn fault! ;D)..
