Can anyone tell me..
« on: 27 October 2010, 10:16:19 »

<rant warning>

Can anyone tell me when the NSL on an unlit single carriageway A-road became 40mph?

I suppose he thought his BMW 525i Estate weighs more than 7.5tonnes fully laden  ::)

What with that and the bloke beeping at me as he stopped before exiting the roundabout because (I presume!) he didn't like me creeping toward the roundabout without stopping completely .. (if he'd just carried on he'd have been long gone before I even entered it)

Always good to arrive at work ready to murder someone ;D
</rant>

On the flip side, I did find out you need to be quite delicate with the right foot when it's greasy out (the three mile long diesel/oil slick probably didn't help) ;D

I did wonder at one point if there was an organisation that sent out drivers at regular intervals to slow down such roads by driving at 40mph.  It would have been some misguided green group that was prepared to waste fossil fuels in order to achieve their end, but I think it might be more to do with the price of fuel these days.  I hope it's not more sinister.

I'm sure there must be otherwise I wouldn't have to stop & give way to the only other car on the road at 5 in the morning.  ::) ::)

 ;D Since not that long after I passed my test! ;D

For some reason I wasn't expecting a luxobarge to break traction quite so easily.. but I suppose there isn't actually a lot at the back of an Omega to keep the wheels on the ground.

But you'd think after I made it through a winter of sheet ice & snow in an automatic twin turbo 300ZX I'd be able to cope with a bit of water.. ;D

It was right after beepy plonker, though, so maybe I was a bit brutal with the right foot - and I haven't quite gotten used to having no pressure behind the DBW throttle pedal..
