just got back from my mums, there was a letter there for me from the above named about my pension i contributed into from 1980-1982. asking me if i wanted to go in the xmas prize draw. i am so puzzled as to why they have all of a sudden contacted me just for that after nearly 30yrs.  :-?

Assuming it is a proper registered scheme and you actually have some service accrued (ie you didn't transfer it out to another scheme), they are legally obliged to write to you every year with a benefit statement. 

So they're doing a *great* job, eh?   :o

THE most important thing with any pension scheme.....is to keep in touch with them and make sure they ALWAYS have your latest address.

thats right mark, it took me until last year to find one i had last paid into in 1992.

they did send a form for me to fill out for any change of details.  seems odd they have written to me now after all this time. i wonder how much i could get if i cashed it in, if i am able to. i couldnt of paid a lot in over such a short period
