not looking good on the news they said theres been another explosion  very sad news for their famalies and friends :(

Poor beggars. Loads of unanswered questions. Why not more ventilation shafts, why didn't they go in (with breathing app) straight after the 1st explosion. Why didn't they have a back up robot? Why drive a long mine uphill to get at coal on the other side? Why not create a road and drill a short access tunnel?

Quite an awful situation really. :( :(

I suspect they knew yesterday that they had perished - you could tell how they were trying to manage expectations...

I was surprised as anitpodean mines are supposed to be well run.

The Chilean mine was better ran than a US mine as it is reckoned British and Austrailian mining engineers are best.

There is a massive difference between mineral mines and coal mines ;)

A tragedy - one of the 2 Scots was from Perth and had only started work in the mine about 6 months ago after risking life and limb on the north sea oil rigs before that...by all accounts he was a great guy  :'(

very sad situation as greymouth is a very small town and all the town will have been affected as this is the main industry for the town very sad .
