Mobile phone exchange service
« on: 19 December 2010, 20:30:11 »

On orange previosly for several years, if your phone played up, keys not responding, screen failed etc they sent a courier via TNT to your house, you give them your buggered phone, they give you a refurbed replacement. Job done. Orange care I think they called it.

Now on vodafony and they do similar if they have any of the same handset.

Thing is the n900 is driving me mad, screen failing now. So I enquired re a new iPhone 4 at car phone hoar house. They point blank refused to provide the service. You have to bring it in. He said.

Rang 02 re iphone4 contract direct with them and the best they could do was a next day postal service, once you have posted your phone to them for repair or replacement. POSTAL service?

Anyone else had experience with 02 on this? Can't believe they don't have a courier service...?

I can't comment on the other networks, but like you i've sent phones back to Orange without problems.

I seem to recall O2 using a courier service when I have had a faulty fone - Omega/TNT etc - not a bike courier if that's what you mean?

I always make sure I have a spare fone these days

Hmmm, orange care was £5 extra a month. 02's insurance is £15 if iiuc? So on an 18 month contract it's 199 for the 16gb phone £35 a month tariff obviously that's £50 a month for the phone/contract/insurance. :o

Might see if I can pick up a 3GS on the gay until my current £35 a month contract has run out in June. Iphone4 is sooo expensive and they won't do a direct replacement if it fails, or so they say. Bloody rip off surely...?

O2 call centre staff are the most useless breakwits ever to come from a mans scrotum. I only tolerate them because their network is, without doubt, the most consistent across England and Wales.
