for over one hundred years, milk has been delivered to the door of customers all over the uk.

now in 2011, someone has decided that on the foil of the milk bottle lid the use by date should be embossed.

many many years ago there was a letter embossed on the foil to denote the day, too long ago now for me to remember what letter was what day.
Up till last year we used to have green top milk ('raw' milk straight from the cow ie not a silver topped pasturised) delivered to the door, but because it's already been banned in Scotland due to the EU Nanny State, my milk man made the decision to stop delivering it before he was told to.

Not forgetting Red Top and good old full fat Gold Top

you talking about red top of the kind you get at Tesco/Asda etc That's fully skimmed p***water homogenised milk same as the blue top full fat & green semi-skimmed, again both are homogenised.
The green I'm taking about is, as I say, straight from the cow, like the Jersey Gold top is and isn't messed about with.

I don't know how much they get paid but it's too much
