cracked windscreen advice.
« on: 05 February 2011, 22:32:36 »

Large crack has appeared on my windscreen, potholes. Anyway fully com insurance. Do I need to contact my insurance company 1st or does the windscreen company do it. and does this effect no claims bonus. Or is it just a case of paying excess. cheers.

I phoned the windscreen people Autoglass and they came out fitted it and sorted everything to do with the insurance too. I had to pay £60 but should not effect your No Claims Bonus  :y

Which reminds me, I could do with a new one. Perhaps a big stone or something will fly up from the road and hit it sometime soon. ::) :-X

That happened to me a couple of days ago, huge rock, preceded by some small bit, all in a flash, I ducked as it came towards the screen, surprisingly small area of damage but will need sorting, right in the centre of the screen.... >:(

Only ever had one replaced - on my old mig just before I sold it. I paid (£100) for it myself, not on insurance. :P ::)
I did hear that when you had yours replaced, you realised afterwards that it was your glasses cracked and not the screen. :D ;D ;D
