Depressing! I knew of a family of Slovakian Romanys a few years ago who were in a privately rented house here in the UK and the social workers were coming round with the shopping from ASDA!! 

I asked them whether they would be bringing the shopping round for the old boy next door who was a war veteren.... Guess what the answer was

Incidentally, I had to sign the official secrets act when I worked for GPO telephones. I can just see those Ruskies shining a light in my eyes and saying "WHAT DO DIAL-OFF-NORMAL SPRINGS DO!!!!!!!"

Though in my day, we normally just changed the dial as a unit...  ....and we were called British Telecom.
