I'm just listening to the latest developments, it's not good. As far as I can tell, Gaddafi's forces are already in Benghazi. We've left it far too late....again. This will be a long, drawn out and frustrating episode, with claim and counter-claim about who is actually playing the bad guys.
IMO, there is absolutely no chance of Gaddafi going of his own accord, and no chance of him being forced out.


Look at Ivory Coast. The situation there worsens day by day and the 'defeated' encumbent refuses to leave. In fact, he appears to be gaining ground.

Now, already, Russia is voicing dissent about the French action in Libya.


Get your wallets out, this is going to cost us.

That'll be why Cameron is off to France then. At least he can enjoy the good life quaffing wine & fine gourmet foods while he's deciding how charge us for killing more of our own troops.

I am afraid it is simpler than that. America now views and says openly that FRANCE is its main ally. The meeting was between America and France and we went to keep in the good books of our famous "special relationship". Don't forget that Britain earns a lot of money from selling weapons to any country, despot etc that wants to buy them. We still need to showcase them in any theatre possible.

Being shallow & mentally lazy i don't follow politics too deeply so i'm Hercs side of the playground. It's not that i don't careabout our guys & girls & what they go through because i do care & respect the bottle & self discipline they show when executing their duties but what a terrible & tragic waste of young lives in a place they just should'nt be.

   Hence i as Herc choose to live in my own little world. It's unpleasant outside. Guy.
