Close friend very ill.
« on: 13 May 2011, 20:28:30 »

Mick Hampson. Some of you may remember me postind driving an old Bedford TK round the arena at a classic meet a couple of years ago, well this was one of Micks fleet that include a Humber Hawk, Wolsely 16/60 farina, A60 van, fire engine, other trucks & tractors that he takes to all the shows. He's given his time free helping folk with thier classics (given me countless Cortina spares), his house & workshop are like a museum. He's a hardworking family man (train driver) who does'nt smoke & only has the odd pint at a meet yet now he can't stop coughing, & can only walk a few yards, has a "shadow" from his throat & now across a lung. Really not looking good, find out more on thursday.

I know it sounds cliche'd but you could'nt meet a kinder natured bloke. Seems uinfair somehow.

Sad news Guy, but you've got to hope for the best? as for the 'highlight', isn't it always the good 'uns that get the shi**y end of the stick? The scumbags all seem to lead charmed lives! :(

Seems to be the way it goes Amigo.
Last year a friend & I appeared on a big build episode of DIY SOS helping to give someone their life back. My friend ended up losing his house, and I got diagnosed with the big C on the 24th December - so much for karma  :-/

Deepest sympathy for your friend, and I hope the final diagnosis is good for him.

Know how you feel chap, lost my step-father to cancer this February, so understand how helpless you may feel at the moment.

Hope that the news is that they can do something for him and the best thing you can do is just be there for him when you can.

Third.

Also I sincerely hope and pray something can be done.  I had a similar problem i.e. not able to breathe properly and on getting to hospital and after all exams and getting a CT scan it was found I had pulmonary embolism as a result of DVT. Thanks to devine intervention and modern medicine I was able to get correct treatment at the right time.

So there is always hope. :y :y :y :y
