cheers all. i think a 1 or 2TB drive i keep at my parents would do the trick. as TB mentions i dont need to access it. Just a backup if the something happens to my flat.

But surely they'll let you take the hard drive when they repossess the flat & contents Mark? ;D ;D ;D ;)

Considering my income has increased by 35% in recent months that's unlikey. ;)

Does that mean you can afford the missing two cylinders now?

Yes, but perhaps not the increase in the laundry bill. ;D

I have always considered an upgrade to a V6 Elite, one with all the toys. But my 2.2 has in 6 years, never let me down, now with gas its uber cheap to run, it cruises at 80 just as well as the V6 (just takes a little longer to get there)

But what it comes down to is selling my 2.2, its worthless, but its had fresh oil every 3k since about 90k (now on 155k) I know its history and runs well, it also owes me nothing.

It also tows a dead V6, very nicely  :-X

Fair point. A car that's been looked after is worth more to you than anyone else is going to pay for it.

Very true indeed.

Though I did laugh at the laundry comment ;D

I would go and buy a NAS box, plug it in at your "remote location" and rsync to it every so often, personally. :y
rsync probably isn't that ideal at that amount of data, esp over ADSL.

More importantly, can you see a point and click useless student being able to modify those rsync configs ;D

Thats why you should keep it going until its not worth fixing.  Apart from wear, particularly pot 1 (and I'd hope yours should be good from that respect with sensible oil changes, and not much thrashing), those things will go on for a while yet.

That said, yours is approaching the dead cert HG change...
