My rear bushes need doing, and I want to try and seal up the void holes on the new ones before fitting, or fill them somehow. :-/ reason being, during the Carlton bush nightmare, when they where fully seated, (before working out as they didn't fit), the feel from the car was quite good as the Carlton ones are solid with no void holes.

I tried spacing the bush differently, but the size of the bush body is different, they still work out.

Anyway, rather than fit Polly, which are about £70 a set I believe? I thought I would try fill the void holes in Febi bushes, as they are cheapest, with a glue of some sort, or glue inserts in maybe...?

Thoughts please... What glue would be suitable? Hopefully a product that wont separate in 2seconds flat....? A tall order maybe....?

Can't remember myself but is there room for the "glue" to get out once the bush is installed? Thinking it'd be easier to find something to fill the hole if it was captive in there, so adhesion is not a problem. Latex or silicone perhaps? Could a plate be fitted over it to clamp it in place?

There is room for the glue to get out, it would drip onto the triangular plate.

So there would be room to screw something in, in two halfs maybe? One half from each side and tighten together in the void hole.

Bit simply poring some glue in would be far easier....? I would think?  :-/

Sikkaflex/Tigerseal to fill the voids?  Fill, smooth off and allow to dry/cure before fitting.  Thinking there could be enough volume to counteract the softness of the material?   :-/

Yep, its a tall order I think.  Something that sticks well enough to not tear apart, but also firm enough to match the rest of the material.  :-/

Popular mod over in the US on various cars, and I can't see why donut bushes would be any different to engine mounts - so 3M Window Weld is the stuff you want..

Can't seem to find that in the UK on fleaBay, but there are plenty of other makes of windscreen adhesive, maybe they're the same stuff?

I think (not sure, though) it's very similar to sikaflex, just stronger (as it's designed to create a structural bond for a windscreen, rather than cosmetic)

As far as I recall, Sikkaflex is used as a windscreen sealant and most probably the same as that listed in the american post....
