Summer.
« on: 23 July 2011, 10:07:56 »

Would I be the only one here at OOF who thinks that 2011 is turning out to be a piss poor summer?.

How I long for the long hot summer of 1976 (the year I lost my cherry... :D :D :D). I would be out all day on my Garelli sports moped. It had 6.2 B.H.P. and was so much faster than the AP50 and FS1E and that crappy Honda four stroke the SS50 of the era... ;D ;D

1983 and 1995 were excellent summer's too.  :y

Any good at tiling or concreting? Early start and finish at 5 for a swim and a siesta. Sleep outside at night under the many stars.

I remember doing a car rally at either Blackbushe or Bagshot in the heat of Aug bank Holiday 76. The car was a lightweight Mini Cooper S devoid of any creature comforts. The only opening perspex window was co drivers circular hatch.

Never had FS1E etc but loved the Honda 50. Had one seize carrying two and a huge metal block/ tackle and chain on a 1 in 4 hill. It restarted at the top and ran for years no issues.

I bought one of these, the first of these emerging 16ers in 1972, If I had been 1 year older I could have had a 250cc at 16....... ::) ::) ::)

Of course the weather would be lovely this weekend, being that I'm spending it mostly with my head under the bonnet of an Omega. ;D

It is my fault - my mates call me Noah as since I bought my Jet Boat in April it hasn't stopped raining or trying to rain :(

Was going to take it to the coast today but was roped into helping a friend move some stuf.
