my in law has 2.0 disel
very refined but driving position feels cramped
but he swears by it ...............then again hes a dwarf

We had a 1.8 petrol Classic SE a few years ago and found it a lovely car to be in.....

Loved the interior, great stereo, comfy seats and relaxing ride....

1.8 not the fastest car in the world, but returned good mpg for a car of its size.....
 
The only problem ours had was its headgasket failed, just before we bought it, sorted by the garage and then was 100% totally reliable for us.....

Cheap as chips now and well worth the money in my opinion......

Still prefer the MV6 though but would happily have another 75

i believe the Rover 75 is loosely based on the E46 BMW 3 Series & the Diesel engine is a Detuned 2.0 BMW Diesel engine

i hate the interior and will never sit in one nor drive in one id rather walk!
