Afraid my German is very very rusty. Basically I've never really used it since 1992. Did you learn your German in the UK or Poland?

Our school taught it instead of French-so I did a year of it before changing to another school where they only did French.  I find German logical to understand and often quite similar to English, but do not know much-only tiny bits-the rest comes from translator pages I'm afraid.

I have been trying to learn Polish for ages, which is very hard compared to German.

Well done on completing your journey mate, wouldn't like to do that with my family in the car in such atrocious conditions! Merry Christmas - I hope the journey back is tosser-free   ;D

Well we are now in Lodz, Poland and the Omega has been faultless across 980 miles in heavy snow, black ice and -17 degrees.

Only problem was Morrisons screenwash freezing solid even though rated -30 and used neat.

Spent 87EUR in German service station on fuel, screenwash and coffees then they refused us hot water and charged my wife 1EUR for a cup of hot water-same as coffee.  I went in and explained in German and they refused again, so I just fetched the watering car and used a cup to fill it with hot water in the toilets.  I then had a full on fight with the attendant who tried to take the can off me-NO chance of that.  My 58" chest and 24 stone soon flattened the tw#t.  Needless to say, I got my hot water and sorted the screenwash.

All is well.  I had typed a longer story but Polish pc crashed-will update soon.

Keep safe!

Cheers for all the comments folks.

It was a very challenging trip due to the atrocious -17 blizzard conditions, but unbelievably, there is snow at home now and it is a very mild 11 degrees here in Poland!!

Very pleased with the way the Omega handled it all effortlessly-it makes sense on this kind of run  :y
