worst car i have ever driven for understeer, apart from that i had no faults with mine liked it
Really?  I had a 2000 SRi Saloon 2.5 V6 which I bought for £1200 so I would agree with the earlier statement of £1200 for an 1.8 is a tad pricey, but I have to say the Vectra is the best handling car I have had to date!  I couldn't get it to understeer even when I was larking around!!

Admitedly it was lowered on Koni 40mm springs and running 17" rims with Hankooks, powerlfexed bushes etc...  and also the standard SRi setup is maybe better than other models of Vectra, I'm not sure but it stuck to the road like sh1t to a blankett!!!

Only problem I had with mine was two of the wires in the wiring loom to the n/s/r door had split meaning that the central locking didnt lock that door, but 30mins fixed it.

The rear rose joint bushes are one to look out for as they go and require a special tool to remove/replace them and they are fiddly to do...

The center exhaust section rusts badly at the bend just before the flange that mates to the rear silencer.

Number plate light contacts rust in the saloons and estates and the lamps are around a £10er from VX each iirc

Then there is the usual VX stuff like the MID display pixels, usual bolster wear etc....

I'm on my second vectra now.
Had a sri, previous to my mig, and now i have gone back to a vectra, but now i have a gsi.
Common problems...
Leak in the passenger footwell, caused from water leaking in hole in bulk head where electrics come into the car.
Leak in boot, new rubber seal.
Rear bushes, can be a pain with out the tool.
Other than that, it's a typical vx, regular cam belt and oil changes, it'll last for years  :y
