pay peanuts you get monkeys

Not always true. Paid £200 for the wifes Audi 80 TDi Estate almost 3 years ago. Apart from wear and tear things it hasn't cost me more than £30 in parts. Straight through the last 2 MOTS without even an advisory.

Only thing wrong with it at the moment is a grumbling front wheel bearing, caused by me when I sideways kerbed it in the snow. (Oh yes and the Turbo doesn't work, but it never has in my time with it and I can live with mpg around the 60's to 70's)

ok here's another, not the most reliable bus going though, Peugeot 607

Im sure their around but the Trader's cheapest one is £1795 and thats not a diesel.

I actually quite like them :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
split personality alert, buys a sensible car like the Omega albeit a tractor, and also thinks a french car is a good idea, wtf? :o..... ;)

I know, I know, but I used to have a company 406 HDi Estate.
Did 120,000 miles in two years and it never let me down, damn comfortable too. If I could find one of them for peanuts my wifes Audi 80 would be out of the door!!! (Peanuts is less than £200 by the way)

Couldn't have been an early one, the seats were appalling. I had a '97 model from new just before I got the Omega in '99, had to go because of the seats. (I am 6'4") They redesigned the seats in about 99. But the Omega seats, Ahhhhh!

Im happy with my 406 astate high milage starts evry time spent nothing on it in 4 years with exeption one oil change brake pads and lots and lots of tiers. Thats why im here now with a mig that cost me more to buy than the pug needs in money to pass mot.just hope the better half dont read this). But it cost me a bit over the £1k threshold when bought pug that is. Mig penuts evan after oil and filter change still copers in my pocket from the £200 ;D.

The only thing I can think of would be somthing like  :-/

A good comfy solid and reliable car, albeit without the toys. Another option would be imo Rover 800 in V6 mode, and let's be honest the Omega V6 is a high maintenance car the Rover is not......

It was a 99/T, one of the first of the facelifted ones. I remember it had 110bhp and it was considered pretty quick back then, but i was coming from a 1.7TD Astra (Izuzu engine) at the time.
