Can't wrap my head around it myself... Because we live in the sticks we don't have barriers and no one, including pedestrians, tries to beat the crossing :y :y

In fact... There are several manual crossings near me where you have to ring for permission to cross and then open the gates, cross, close the gates and then call "Clear"... Some of those idiots wouldn't be able to cope with that ::) ::)
