2.2 POWER (or lack of)
« on: 25 April 2010, 20:39:44 »

Was a passenger in the Useless Student's car earlier.  I thought he was just driving like Miss Daisy, as he does normally.  Nope, turns out he was flooring it off the roundabouts ;D ;D

I know what you mean. I find it frustrating also when
joining motorways and maintaining speed on inclines without having to give it some proper wellie.

The 4 pots are ok but, you have to work them.

The V6 has lots of low down torque where as the 4 pot needs to be over 4K!

drove a 2.0 the other day, didnt think it was too bad tbh, once the missfire from 4k and above was fixed.

Thats the thing.

The superb torque delivery profile of the V6 spolis us 6 pot owners as it pulls from 1000rpm to the red line, the 4 pots need a little more encouragement.

Encouraging driving and a Tunnie at the pedals? (snigger)

i actually fancy buying a 2.0 and dropping a "c20LET" in it
i think that would go well.
shame the engine costs more than the car would

Oh ha ha!

Actually i very rarely rev it over 4k, maybe once a month?  ;D

I regularly switch between the 3.0 and the 2.2's and 4 pots are no slouch, suits my needs as sits at 80 on motorway just as good as a V6  :)

I do however notice the weight of LPG, 74L + tank makes performance tad sluggish  ;D

Just makes me cunning though its not all about power on a commute  ;)
