Elite or CDX
« on: 30 May 2010, 22:05:01 »

Thinking of upgradeing my old CDX for a newer one but cant make my mind up which one to go for. Seen a couple on 03 plates but worried what Im gonna get hit with the road tax for  a 2.6 0r 3.2.

Plus is there much difference between  the elite and cdx???

Road tax is the same as yours now, it's 2006 onwards that they get expensive.

road tax is same between 2.6 and 3.2, all post 2001 Omegas current pay £215 a year. They are not affected by the stupid £400+ rates

More like £245.00 for a post-2001 car. There is some discussion as to whether the reprieve from the £400 level was temporary or permanent though.

No mention of the reprieve expiring here though : http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524

Personally, I'd say when buying second hand the car and its' condition (and asking price) are more important than the spec. level but that's just my take.
