About £2.5K would be a starter, had 4 new tyres and new exhaust since xmas.

yep, there was never a 2.5 MV6, in pre-facelift or facelift form.

But as Markie says, 2001 came the 2.6 MV6.

One in manual form at the right price with less 100k miles, might be a replacement for my 2.2! - Should point out a manual 2.6 will be quicker than an auto 3.0/3.2  

So where does my manual 3.0 come into this equation

Well, having gone from my 3.2 Auto immediately to Bob Dent's old 2.5 Manual, I can tell you that it/they aren't.

Don't get me wrong, in comparison to SWMBO's 2.5 auto, it was quite lively, but wouldn't stand a chance against the 3.2.

Appreciated, but it didn't have the misfire initially. Don't know about the 3.0's, but I'm still sticking to what I said about the 3.2 Auto.

Manufacturers figures say 3.2 auto is quicker than 2.5 or 2.6 manual.

I get to drive a few when Tech2'ing, obviously I tend not to thrash other people's pride and joy, but my MV6 seems much quicker than any 2.5 manual...
