yeah normal 5sp auto... not tip-tronic......... :y

i think il simply never answer her questions ..... best way out of it... she might find it a bit suspect when we are out in it and..... i keep saying "ok luv, just got to get some petrol".................. AGAIN!!!!

oh yeah fuel being only £1 a litre ..... great choice!!!!!!! :y :-[

performace wise..... i mean its rapid yes but....... in a smooth sort of lazy way.........

performace ..... limited to 155mph - de-limited 182mph......... so i better get it de-limited!!! ;D
0-100... 12.6seconds.......

another thing i have found out........ AFTER....... buying it.......

brake pads .... £100 fronts , £80 rear EBC............  :y
front discs ..... AMG merc only ...2 piece 330mm rotors ..... £150+_vat EACH!!!!!! :'(

Front shocks ...... wait for it!!!!!!....... £358+VAT each!!!!!!!!
rears ..... £90???? how the HELL does that work!!!!!!!

so basically if the shocks go.. its cheaper to ket a complet new suspension kit like koni's.....!!!! ouch!!!!

so many things couls go wrong!!!!!! its even got bloody electric head rests............. :o i mean what the hell is the point of that!!!!! ha ha ha

none the less a lovely car............

haven't picked it up yet.... hopefully pick it up mid week!!! :y

I think LB66 might be referring to a gearbox that merc used.....sorta a clutchless manual but also did have a 'D' position as well if you couldnt be bothered.
Tiptronic boxes were different type of box  :y

My C class had a tiptronic box in it and never a prob  :y

Also had electric headrests.....they didnt go wrong either  :y

Nice merc  :y tho not my cuppa tea......only coz its a saloon  ;D

That E-Class is the last good Mercs before they had issues, i think the early new shapes were no way near as good in terms of build. Think its been fixed now though  :)

I saw TD's Merc in the flex, was in showroom condition, amazing considering it was a taxi and had the same millage as the starship enterprise.

As long as you use it on long runs only, should be good  :y - Bet with a trailer on, you will not even notice pulling an Omega!  ;D

A good friend of mine has got a tweaked E55. Recently returning from France, he got 201mph out of it (showing on GPS) - well off the clock.

I wasn't with him, but I can vouch that it is a scarily fast car for not scarey money. I'll own one when I'm rich.

As for the cost of running one...he paid £500 for an air-con condenser fitted last year. More money that sense [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
