The Saab 3.0 Litre V6 with the turbo on one bank of the engine, I believe it to be the same as the X30XE.

Anyone have much dealing/knowledge of this engine?

Yeh, basicaly the same block etc.

Slightly lower compression ratio and only a low blow unit.

Seem to recall slightly less bhp and more torque

Yep thats right, a little bit more torque.

I wonder how different the compression ratio really is?

I would guess mid or high 9's where as the standard is 10.8!

Just checked, 9.5:1 compression ratio with 0.27 Bar of boost, 310Nm of torque (at 2500-4000 rpm) and 200bhp (at 5000rpm)

Do you reckon thats only one bank? and the other is sorta the same as an Omega?

Nope, although the turbo is only driven off a single bank, the boost is fed to both banks and hence both will have the lower compression

cheap at the moment but depends what the problem is,if its crank sensor its an easy fix,cam belt gone not so easy

Just stripping one at the moment, other differences include 2.5 cams, & double valve springs on the turbo side bank head.

What you stripping it for? are you planning on using it?

I was going to swap it for my 2.5 in the omega, its fully stripped & cleaned, just needs assembling & new rings. I have deburred & polished the piston crowns & ported the heads & divider, but need the omega inlet & 3.0 cams along with the front cover & flywheel/clutch also to finish.
