This is bureaucracy gone nuts...  As said, it will only provide more revenue from the usually Law abiding...  If someone is willing to drive a car without insurance, then driving it Sorn won't stop them either...

They bought the Sorn Laws in to attempt to stop cars being driven that had no Tax, which, it didn't work...  DVLA claim that they will send reminders out for cars that are Sorn, I have never received one for any of the cars I have had Sorn for over 1 year, yet when I did get caught out, they had no problems sending me the fines...

The only people rubbing there hands with glee over this one is the Insurers, they get more cars insured, which they are able to charge out at over inflated rates...

Oh, I thought that if a car did not have tax, then it could not be kept on public land...

Very flawed system, that will undoubted cause big issues...

I wonder if Big Brother would rather we didn't buy & sell cars privately.. because you're right it does make selling a car harder unless you keep it taxed and insured, and who wants to pay two lots of that on a car you're selling?

Suddenly it becomes easier to chop it in and accept being bent over the bonnet by a dealership on the trade in price..

Public institutions being complicit with big business in shafting members of the public? Oh, no, that doesn't happen here. :-X >:(

Sorry. In a cynical mood today. ;)
