sorry if the topics past it but i finally fixed...
« on: 28 March 2011, 20:47:04 »

...my rust problem.

i previously got overspray everywhere along the rear wing and the filling wasnt sanded down correctly. i also had a huge definite line where id used masking tape.

well today (as i had lots of light afterwork finally) i sanded the area right down (including the tape line) and as suggested sprayed over a much wider area so as to feather it so it blends in.

now ive got no overspray, no line and a lovely smooth wheel arch that looks as near as damn it like the other  :y :y :y :y

then ill have to do it all again in 6 weeks when the rust comes back  ::) ::) ::) ::)

You'd have hoped that if youd sanded down to the bare metal before and eradicated the rust first, you'd not have to spray it again.
Either that or use something called VACTAN, and then paint over this.

Good stuff, used it myself on a few cars.

mate, that would nowhere near be enough. i went proper industrial on it with a wire wheel attachment on my drill and rust removal liquid. but unfortunately most of the wheel arch is rust especially inside above the actual wheel. so i think it will keep coming back. but hey ho. just some of the trials of being the owner of the best car in the world ;)
