Air Con Condenser replacement
« on: 28 April 2011, 17:19:07 »

2008 2.5 V6 mini-facelift air-con has no gas, dignosed as leaking condenser using tracer dye.

A few questions if I may...

Should I replace the drier as well?
I believe new pipe seals are also needed?
Is fitting straight forward?
Where is it best to purchase good quality at the keenest price?

Easy enough to fit - just tedious - you will need to remove radiator first.  Ideally replace drier and make sure the seals you get are for aircon (viton I think)

A 2008 Omega - thats the latest one I've heard of  :-? :-? :) :) ;)

Thanks dbug. I have ordered the condenser so let's see how it goes.

I know it is a while since I last posted but I have managed to put this in the wrong section and made the car 10 years younger than it is (wishfull thinking on my part, but 1998 sounds so long ago now!)

Can be fitted without draining rad. But you will need to take out all the intake gubbins to give you enough room to lift the rad up and back far enough to get the condenser out and back in again.
