My Elite is at the garage, having a new rear offside wheel bearing, and a front wishbone bush sorted. I can't drive at mo as I have a busted ankle, so it was a good time to get it in.
Garage phoned this p.m - theyve got the new wheel bearing in (took over three hours, apparently), but the hub flange is also damaged, so need a new one of those too. Wishbone bush sorted, but my man also noticed that
both rear springs have snapped at their mounting points

Was budgeting for a bill for around £300 - looks like its going to be about double that....

Have seen threads on here before about snapped rear springs - just how common is this, and is there a better type of spring that might prove more durable?
Also, when its done, just how much better is it going to drive?! I'm embarrassed to say that I really hadn't noticed any deterioration in the handling :-/
