I personally love them to be honest, and I happily pay a premium for what I think is a better car. I've had quite a few, and I wouldn't be without one. I don't buy them for the badge either, I buy them because I like them, and I hate the fact that because you buy a BMW your instantly classed as a badge snob, who doesn't use his indicators and drives like a cock, but I know of people in many other cars that don't get any of this for some reason?

E46 and E39 were the most timeless designs and still look great today, I still like the E34 M5 though!

I also like the current E89, E92 and F10.  All look great to me, BMW's tend to also have nice interiors in addition to very good driving dynamics.

:-/ ...anyone got an Enigma machine I can borrow - stop talking in code... :D :D
The X6 looks like a 1 series on steriods
The 5 series GT looks like an SD1 in a fairground mirror...... the Audi A7 is what it should have looked like I think. Everything else is boring looking (very nice - but boring to look at)
I think the new generation designers at BMW should have gone to specsavers... 8-).
I like BMW's - but I think they've over egged the pudding a tad with models no one really needs - but they're not the only guilty ones there either....VW/Citroen/Ford/Audi/Toyota....

Agree bmw has had some ugly cars for years if it wasn't for badge snobbery they would be on o sales, Who in there right minds would buy a 1 series. only for the £30 road tax i think.

Yep, can't see the point of most models of car on the market at the moment.  BMW seem to have umpteen Coupes that are jacked up so high they look like off-roaders. Toyota's entire range seem to be so poxy that you can't get an adult in the back seat of any of them  - unless you include the 4 wheeled lobotomy that is the Avensis..

Surely any car range only needs a supermini, a shopping trolley hatchback, a repmobile-sized saloon/hatchback/estate and a large saloon/coupe. Oh, and a convertible 2 seater, of course. I suppose some would say a chelsea tractor too. 9 models max.

Yep, and exactly the wrong form factor of car to benefit from RWD IMHO. ;D

Why?

I have owned small RWD cars and they are fantastic.
