Alarm problems
« on: 30 June 2011, 19:05:39 »

It is not my week with this car, after resolving the water leak problems with the help of this site, the car alarm keeps going off of its own accord. This is not the horn alarm but the siren that should only operate when the battery is tampered with according to the handbook.
I am now sitting indoors waiting for it to go off the next time, has anyone experienced this problem and what is the cure, I am desperate as the neighbours are getting a bit restless, it has only started to do this from yesterday.

Sensor under the bonnet might  have bent down. try bending it back up, or unplug it. Worth a try. ;)

Albs thanks for the reply, it is not the alarm but the power sounder, after reading something in the electrical section it seems you can unplug this  unit, but I cannot locate it at present anyone know how to get to it.

It's under the scuttle panel on the driver's side. The fact it's going off randomly may mean the batteries have started leaking... Get it out quickly before it spontaneously combusts :o :o :o
