Car is Happy and So am I!
« on: 30 July 2011, 21:26:36 »

Today my mate came round as my new rear brake pads arrived, and after wrestling with one side that had a seized piston that is no longer seized found we had plenty of time on our hands and moved on to the engine, so we adjusted the bonnet catch cable, cleaned all the breather pipes thoroughly and cleaned out the EGR valve that was full of crap, and we found a pipe was not connected on the engine that sucks cooling air into the cylinder head and the pipe that connects to the EGR wasn't connected properly, So now it is all cleaned and put back together right and wow can I feel the difference, It now starts properly and quietly, it has more oomph and is proving more economical, The gears are smoother too, but still sticking in 3rd.

So next weekend it is getting a top up of ATF and spark plugs, oil, oil filter and I am hoping that will make things even better. And my mate is lending me the money to go and get a new bootlid for my Omega.

And had a BBQ for dinner to relax.
