why can't i fix something without.....
« on: 18 July 2007, 17:13:02 »

rather BREAKING SOMETHING ELSE.

James,  you were spot on with the rough idle. I have repaired using latex glove rim until Friday, works a treat. Trouble is whilst doing this I have somehow managed to completely break the rear multi-ram connector.

Does anybody have a part number and approx cost for a new one? Or at a push is anyone breaking that has a spare.

The bit that the connector plugs onto has snapped off.

What does the one in by the pollen filter do? If it's less important can I swap it?

It is the connector on the solenoid valve. Just emailed an ebayer breaker, £7.50 inc.

As a short term fix, swap it with the one on the air injection that is mounted on the right hand end of the rad.

Thanks m8. I'll swap it 2moro. I ordered a replacement from ebayer seller @ £7.50 inc. Now lets see if I can fit it without breaking anything else  :-[

Good job, to me the multiram is MUCH more important than the air injection  :y

You are learning the art of bodgery very fast ;D ;D

When I was away from home, and lost that air seal.. the rim from a rubber glove was perfect!

I have had the art for quite some time on other jobs, it is only now that I can use the art of bodgery on the car. I once installed some wall lights in my lounge. I stood back to admire my work, flicked one on, perfect, then the other, perfect. Then I flicked them both on at the same time, I immediately sat on the floor in a daze looking at 2 burnt fingers  :'( ;D
