Quiz time from a complete idiot
« on: 21 July 2007, 16:52:50 »

For anyone that has read my posts on general help, here is a quiz relating to this.

Background: Did camcover gaskets. 1st fault was lumpy idling and rough running. Passenger bank was leaking, fixed that and cleaned plugs again, sorted. A new problem developed: Idling high and no rear multiram.

Now based on high idle and no rear multiram, the quiz is question is.

An idiot is working on the car, he puts everything back together. What mistake did he make to produce the above symptoms?

Answer will follow later when I have gone out and corrected the error I made.

Well, not many takers there lol.

Answer is: When putting the cable tray back in, I routed the wires wrong. So rear multiram connector was connected to ICV and vice versa.

I spotted the mistake after putting the plenum back on for the 3rd time  :y

Whoops! I wouldn't have thought of that, because, you'd have to go seriously out of your way to get those 2 crossed  ::)

Easy for me to do anything wrong lol. I also managed to fix the breather box to plenum bolt. Everything is now spot on and I am pretty pleased with myself.

You can do it, no question.

Borrow a kit (or hire from autoxaux) and you'll be away...
