My idea for a project Miggy
« on: 09 September 2010, 09:55:33 »

This is what i hope to do to my miggy at some point (maybe after this recession) with the inclusion of a LS series V8 engine and 6 speed transmission swap.

The interior is to remain standard with some enhancements and some of the exterior (Bumpers front and rear ,side exit exhausts ,side skirts and flared arches) will be a little more subtle as this is to be a road legal tribute to this the winning car of 2001 and 2002.

Why oh why was there never a V8 Omega????
Such a missed oppurtunity.
Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

Time for someone other than a german to remember this awsome race car which won 2 of 3 championships with the V8Star series.

There were several teams running the miggy in V8Star between 2001 and 2003. They were seen in a White and Blue, a Blue, and a Black and Turquoise Vitaphone (as per DTM cars) livery as well as this Silver IRMSCHER team livery. This car was the only one of the Irmscher team in 2001 and 2002, driven by Johnny Cecotto who won the series both times but he was replaced in 2003 within the Irmscher team by Yves Olivier and Roland Asch who drove very similar cars and obviously were for the first and only time team mates.
Several of these cars are available as die-cast collectables in most of the liveries except the Olivier/Asch Irmschers and the Vitaphone cars. Season 2003 was won by Pedro Lamy in a Zakspeed Jaguar??? i believe.

Interesting idea but whats the point?

V8Star was never an Omega in anything more than a fibreglass silhouette.

All the cars in the seies used the same tubular framed chassis and Ford based V8 with a fibreglass body loosely based on the car it was supposed to replicate.

Anyway, good luck
