My new toy
« on: 05 April 2011, 08:47:51 »

So, here we go.

This is my first Omega picked up for £650, well £770 with the 6 month Tax I put on it (says £695 in the window but took some work to get him down a few £'s haha), has full vauxhall service history up to 95k (currently 117k).

Has some small, badly patched rust spots (worst is about 1-2cm on the bottom rear of drivers door).  I will undoubtedly be asking lots of questions on here as I look to sort it out and tidy it up during its stay with me.

These pics are taken from the advert where I got it, not taken by me  ;D

Yea its pretty tidy and can't really complain for the price.  Needs a few bits sorted out and the general paintwork needs an overhaul, I suspect the previous owner had a dog as the boot was covered in hair and there is light scratching down the drivers side (can probably t-cut alot of that out).

Needs the exhaust looking at as its blowing slightly and can smell fumes around the car when its stationary, needs the discs / pads doing pretty soon and needs a new thermostat and expansion tank (coolant level sensor seems to not work).  Apart from that, I am not currently aware of any other issues.  Drives well although a bit underpowered (I knew that before I got it, its the 2.0ltr 16v auto).

Mustang ..... I wish haha, would rather have a Viper though :D

Ill do some picks of the boot etc. tonight and put them up, its a bit dirty / stained in the boot haha, damn dog owners  ;D

Going to be spending a bit of time and money giving it a general tidy up etc over the next months.  Brakes and exhaust and thermostat are the main ones at the moment.  After that its a start on the general maintenance (brake fluid, oil, plugs etc) then take it from there.  Oh, and getting the stone chip sorted on the windscreen, which I picked up on the drive home after picking it up  :'(, thats being done today on the insurance.

So, you are likely to see a good few posts from me in the future (hopefully I won't bore you all to death).  Have been looking through the maintenance section and looks like some nice guides in there so should get some use out of those  :y

Here you go Webby the Bear.  I don't have a load cover for it at the moment so can't show it with that fitted.
