No offence intended but this is rubish car waste of metal. I have driven it and i can confirm that it is dissapointing unless you are an MP and you sit in the bacj seat.

Looks very tidy. It will be underpowered with that engine, I believe the 2.8 is the smallest engine you can get in a 7 series. It's about 1.8 tonnes so 190 BHP or thereabouts will struggle, especially through that sludgebox.

Personally I'd go for a 5 series, loses very little in terms of space (unless it's a long wheelbase 7), better dynamics, better selection of them around, etc etc. If you want the smaller engine go for either a 528i or 530i with manual gearbox, but personally for me it'd have to be the 540i with 6-speed manual... the V8 engine is absolute lush and with the 6-speed box it'll embarass many smaller cars off the line.

Your call, depends on whether you want to drive or feel like you're being driven :D

You seam to get a hell of a lot of car there for you money!

Looks very tidy as well and looked after.

I have been in a 728, and it does't hang about. Ok so its not the fastest out of the blocks, but who cares?

To be honest if your in the market for a 7 Series, you not looking for pace?

Looks good, although servicing maybe high, and those tyres don't look cheap!

I'd be happy to own that though, and i suspect its fast enough.... just not quick enough for Paul!  ;)

It'll be a gutsy bas on gas too, probably not that much better than the V8 models as that engine will have to work a lot harder to lug around the weight.

A lot of car for the money yes, but remember what it cost new and take that into account when service/repair costs are considered. A £45k car still costs £45k car prices to run, even when it's dropped to £5k 8-). Probably not as bad on the 7 series (certainly not the inline 6 engine anyway) but as an example, the back boxes for my 840 cost ~£600 per side! There are no pattern parts either.

I'd still go for the 5, better looking too IMO, the 7 is very old man! ;)

£600 per side!  :o

And I was fussing over a £200 cat back system, with geniune GM parts for mine!  ;D

Very good point, something worth mentioning though. That Which? car guide i talked about before, although they complained about the Omega, it was in the 'Luxury' section, along with big Jag's and 7 series....
