Morning everyone...
I've had a radiator disaster and looks like I'm going to be forced into a corner soon and have to buy a new one. I'm on a '98 2.5TD Auto with A/C - which means there's a fair bit attached to the radiator
I've got replace the viscous fan as well - which I've never done on any car before. I've read that it needs a special tool to get it off? I've spoken to RMcB too
and he tells me BMW 525 diesels are no longer safe in my surrounding scrapyards.
I'm thinking about taking some time off work to fix the car so I can get back on the road (no way I'm driving the wife's Rover 200 much longer). I've done radiators in the past but they've been straight forward, but never the fan.
Could anyone give me any advice on how difficult the job might be? I'm loathed to fork out to get a garage to do the job, as no doubt they'll not source new parts as cheaply, and spend a long time over it to charge me a fortune. I've read as much as I can about it and it seems ok, but any advice would be really appreciated.
