Interesting about the genuine VX wishbones, they seem way too cheap :O

I'm tempted to replace both mine with them, to try and solve the pulling when braking, but as my existing wishbones have been checked out and are apparently OK, I fear I'll be throwing more money at the problem with no solution.

Well having bought both (2) and (3) from the suppliers mentioned I feel I may be able to comment.....

The VSC ones are not genuine parts. If you look really carefully I don't think they claim they are either. They turned up promptly enough and seemed fairly solid. My left and rights actually looked like they may have been from different suppliers. Manufacturing quality was not great, but they're not meant to be a cosmetic part. They fitted OK, but my passenger side vertical bush started to fail at about 8,000 miles and 6 months. I would say 80% of my driving is motorway so they don't get a hard time either. I've replaced the wishbone now and posted a photo of the bush here:
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1167337611. I really don't think the bush was physically damaged by my driving, there are no speed ramps round here and it never gets kerbed.

The bypartsby parts I bought direct from their website (not Ebay). They cost £17.15 each + VAT + £6.50 P&P. Not a genuine part, but a part number that appears to be QH. Slightly better quality than the VSC ones. Bushes feel stiffer when driving the car (but perhaps the 'old' ones were worn). Haven't really thoroughly tested them yet because my tracking is now miles out and the tie rod ends have seized and need changing to adjust the toe.

My P reg CDX has a horriffic pull under braking.... it turned out to be a wishbone.

Your main challenge will be the bolts - can be very tight.

Once removed I've done my wishbones twice now just removing the 3 bolts holding the wishbone and one drop link bolt each side.

There's a knack: the vertical bush only goes in with the wishbone horizontal. Then don't put any other bolts in whilst you get the balljoint bit in place. Bit of tugging and levering but not too much.

If you don't touch the strut bolts you shouldn't mess up the camber and only the tracking will need adjusting afterwards.

The pinch bolt will be tight so you'll need a 1/2" socket but it's 18mm and that is not a common size for most sets.

You're supposed to replace all the bolts (but judging by the stock levels at the Bristol main dealer it doesn't appear that Vauxhall do).

Each side

Vertical bolt            M14 x 1.5 x 77            90468501
Horizontal bolt         M14 x 1.5 x 88            90468500
Nuts (2 off)             M14 nut                    90538056
These (above) are angle tightened - therefore should be replaced.

Knuckle pinch bolt (not stretch tightened) and Haynes only says replace nut.
Knuckle pinch bolt       M12 x 50       90496191
Nut                            M12            90538057

Very helpful Jason & I do have an 18mm 1/2" square drive socket.  FYI the Buypartsby bones carry a full 12m guarantee - but I hope we don't need it.

When I did my Senator's wishbones I split the 19mm socket after swing off the 3' breaker bar  :( - & it wasn't a cheapo socket either
