Always wanted a V6. I bought a Cavalier V6 which had a few problems, so sold it on ASAP. Managed to find a manual 2.5V6 Omega with 74000 miles for £450. I had never even been in an Omega before this. I was astounded at what I got for my money in comparison to the Cavalier.
Not regretted the Omega ever.

I confessed this to Broocie a few months back and feel I should share. I had the Omega for 6 months before I realised it was rear wheel drive  :-[ It wasn't until I lost traction one day when coming from a junction and I noticed it was the rear wheels that spun.

Never liked Vauxhall and after owning a cavalier i was adamant id never own another Vauxhall that's until my boss showed me his Omega (just a 2.0 GLS) and from that moment on i wanted one (actually i bought his eventually) so found a cheapish 2.0 on Ebay and drove down to Reigate to get it (that's a far trip from Huntington) and nearly wet myself when i first drove it as it felt huge compared to the sierra saloon"s id driven previously. ;D

Then after the first 2.0 developed a very rattly engine i bought my bosses 2.0 saloon....then the 3.0 Elite and finally a 2.5 Estate, still drive the Elite and so far spent sod all on it apart from a couple of rear tyres and a couple of bits second hand for the climate and touch wood its been fine.

Couldn't imagine driving anything else now....big comfy car and cheap to buy. :y

i like the luxury and value for money, i like the modern look of my facelift, i like the cheap enough insurance of a group 13+ car, i like the jag-like smoothness even on 17" wheels, and i also like the rareness of the omega

two people drive past each other in astras, they dont bat an eye, but 2 omegas pass and the drivers cant help but look across

I could not agree more!

Suppose I should leave a comment myself.

I originally had a Carlton (it got squished by the local council), then when I came to buy my next car I found a 2.5 Elite and fell in love, back last december she saved my life after I got out and walked away from a 5 car 70 mph crash on the A80.

(£6k's worth of damage if anyone is intrested - who knew an Omega could become that stumpy?)

Got another one with the insurance, although a  2.6 CD this time.

But if it had been a smaller car less well made, it may well have been a different story!

Also like comfort, room/size, V6, style, value for money, Auto box.

Comfort and space.

I bought mine purely to go to South of France nearly 4 yrs ago.  It is so effortless and comfortable (and economical on a trip like that), not tiring like other cars I've had...
