Locking problem
« on: 23 February 2007, 16:13:51 »

Hi everyone I am new to the forum but I do have a problem already which is all of a sudden today after a month of problem free motoring in my omega the central locking will not operate either from the remote or the key in the drivers door. But the strange thing is the remote will still flash the indicators but only once for each press.I have checked the obvious fuse but I dont know what else to try any ideas guys.

Hmmm this is an unusual one.

I would suggest taking the IT approach first.

Reboot the system! ;)
(Make sure you have radio/cd code if original equipment fitted befroe doing this!)

Unlock car, pop bonnet, disconnect battery with 30 seconds (I think) of unlocking or alarm goes off.
leave battery disconnected for an hour or so.

Reconnect battery and QUICKLY lock and unlock car (ideally remote will work now!)... or alarm goes off!

Thanks for the advice I seem to have solved it now it was due to a dodgy fuse that even though was intact was not working correctly.
