have slight coolant leak..every morning slight patch of fluid on driveway at front nearside...thought it might be rad drain off plug so removed /cleaned and replaced "O" ring seals..this morning there again..seems to be very slight and always there..not coming from washer jets on h/lights as bottom of rad is just damp.....is there a decent additive that will cure leak but not block up system..have used them before and always worried they clog up everything ..any advise on one that works without issues?

I had a similar problem on a pug 405 and used a wynns coolant leak product.  It worked until I scapped the car (thank god) 2 years later for other reasons and it was still holding.

There are concerns about using this type of stuff, older versions have been known to block the radiator/air heat matrix on some cars but I have been told that the newer versions do not do this.

I have known of instances where it was used as a temporary fix on deisel head gasket leaks - lasted a few months.  This was a pug engineer in france!

If you have the funds take it to a decent garage who can do a pressure test with a dye in the coolant and that will pinpoint the leak and you can take it from there.

Otherwise you can take a risk and try the wynns or similar product.  Your call

Leak must be very slight as header bottle level rarely needs a top up..just would like to ensure no fluid loss at all..do dyes only work with uv ..like air/con dye or are these visible with no special glasses??..had read some where something called copper water..does not cause issues with heaters etc just blocks small leaks ..any knowledge of it??

cant say ive heard of it as all I ever use is wynns.  The garage will be able to advise more on the dyes, but I woud find the leak before doing anything as it could indicates something else more serious such as rubber pipes about to blow.  If that were to happen on a warm engine under heavy load then its byebye head gaskets.....

I your going to use one of those products I think one called k-seal is one of the better ones.

Project TB2 had something put through the cooling system that has copper particles in. Don't think it ever had a leak though, and its a right bummer getting it all out.

Try to find where it is leaking from, theres not much room on the n/s by the radiator but a torch and a mirror from the missus' handbag should help. There is a temp switch for the fans on that side plus an electric coolant pump, could be one of these.
