Front discs and pads
« on: 17 April 2007, 17:57:02 »

:question Hi all, Just got car back from MOT. Failed on one cracked rear coilspring. Job all sorted now. I`ve been advised front discs and pads are on the border for replacing. Does anyone know of a genuine place to get replacements and what make, OEM or pattern. The last set I got for my old `97 CDX cost me over the ton (with pads) from the dreaded main stealer. Any advice greatly appreciated.

GM Discs & Pads are the best for the money

They are £68 + Vat on Trade (Vaux Dealers) .... you get pads with the discs.

Easy job to replace, don't go for cheap pattern they are false economy!

2 ways:

1) Join the Autobahnstormers, they are a UK club for 6 cylinder Vauxhall's, with their membership card you can get trade prices at Vaxhall. Some dealers fob you off, but they must accept it

2) See if a member around you has access to the Trade Club (TC) card, you can apply for these in dealers. Just put down the details of your ermm 'company'  ::) Send if off and you get a Trade Club card, this can take months though. So either joins ABS or see if a local member has a card

Stick to genuine, many pattern parts are rubbish, like the junk on my MV6.

You will need 2 pad sensors if this option fitted to your car, about £8 each...

If you join MIG Web I've set up a Trade Club account at Drive Vauxhall, Avon Street, Bristol.

ABS tend to get the cards out quicker, but £20

MIG can be slow getting card to new members, £15 iirc

VxON aren't giving Tradeclub cards to members yet (some have been waiting nearly a year), but I think you *may* still get Halfords trade discount. £15 iirc.
