ABS ECU Part Number
« on: 17 April 2007, 08:04:32 »

Where can I find it? I have had a good look around the unit, well, what I think is the unit, but can't find it. I have got a 1999 3.0 Elite (if it makes any difference).

According to EPC:

Unit, Hydraulic, ABS:

X25X & X30X to V1999999 - Vx P/N 90444660 / Bosch P/N 0265203003
X25X & X30X from W1000001 - Labelled DX / Vx P/N 9117170 / Bosch P/N 0265220449

(I think the W1000001 is the 97/98 mini-facelift break point - not sure)

and it should look like this one:

I chose a pic that looks like the diagram on EPC... that's what EPC is showing....

I also have this picture:

and if this is the right one, then the pic on EPC is wrong...

Thanks guys,
My vin starts with an "X", so I presume X25X & X30X from W1000001 - Labelled DX / Vx P/N 9117170 / Bosch P/N 0265220449 is correct

Worth checking the ident code on yours (DX), though it seems right for the later type...

So where do I need to crawl/view to see the numbers on the unit?

The unit is installed in the engine bay to the right hand side of the engine when viewed from the front, fairly low down, roughly under the PAS reservoir and on top of the oil filter (eesh).

I can see mine but apart from some Bosch logo there are no numbers that can be read from this angle... perhaps with you can get under the car...
